RETREAT
8 Day Intensive Training Experience
AMAZON RAINFOREST, ECUADOR
March 20 – March 27, 2024
Kurikindi Kawsay retreats are a unique experience which aim to bring a complete transformation by creating the space to go deep into your heart and let go of what no longer serves you. We believe that the cleansing ceremonies are a very important part of your mental, physical and energetic growth. We strongly focus on your understanding and development of your light so that you can leave with an enhanced vision of how to live your life in a good way. Participants will learn the importance of walking cleanly, with honour and humility, bringing about balance in mind, body and spirit and balance in your masculine and feminine energies.
AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR STAY
The itinerary for your visit is set in a free-flowing organic way, allowing flexibility for a more personalised experience. There will be a mixture of cleansing ceremonies, expansive learning through group and individual sessions, as well as time to relax and just enjoy the rainforest surroundings.
BOOKING YOUR TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
There are a number of different airlines that fly into Quito. Whichever airline you choose, please ensure you arrive in Quito on or before the 18th November 2023. We would recommend a couple of days either side of your trip for familiarisation and integration. Please advise us of your flight details in advance so we can arrange transport to your chosen accommodation.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Please ensure your travel insurance contains cover for COVID-19, medical emergencies, delays, cancellations and cover for travel in remote rainforest areas. In cases of emergency or delay you may like to buy an airline ticket that is changeable. Your chosen airline or your bank, should be able to offer you insurance for your journey, but be sure to check the details of what they cover.
AIRPORT PICK-UP/DROP-OFF
After arriving in Quito you will stay at the accommodation of your choice, a list of recommendations can be viewed below. Arrangements will be made for your collection and transport from the airport to Quito. If you arrive on a flight with other participants you will be collected as a group for a cost of approximately $30 each. We ask that you send us a copy of your flight details to coordinate this pick-up. If you arrive separately a taxi is the easiest option for travel to Quito. Please also send us flight details so we can keep in touch and can arrange for you to be collected by a dedicated taxi driver known to us. They will be waiting with a sign displaying your name at the arrivals gate. The charge is $35. This cost includes the driver coming to the airport, the cost for parking, plus the time to wait for you. If your flight is very delayed, you may consider adding an extra tip as a thank you.
ACCOMMODATION
We have listed two hotel where you may wish to stay in Quito city centre. There are also alternative options such as AirBnB which you may prefer. These two hotels are close to the city centre.
El Hotel Cayman offers an entirely different accommodation styles and good prices. This is a small hotel with a garden and is situated close to the tourist centre. Inexpensive, good value and friendly. http://www.hotelcaymanquito.com/
Hotel Quito is a large hotel, with a heated non-chlorinated outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym and a rooftop restaurant. For its size it is extremely friendly, the staff are very accommodating and do not mind people turning up from the Amazon with muddy boots! http://www.hotelquito.com.ec/en/
Airbnb – If you use the Quito road names ‘Gonzales Suarez’ or ‘Pasaje Stubel’ as references, you will be close to Hotel Quito, not far from El Cayman and in a good quiet area.
Sisa’s place – Kurikindi works very closely with his sister Sisa who is also an Original Amazonian shaman and elder. She brings her strength and wisdom of working with tobacco, her knowledge of many Amazonian plants and her visionary abilities inside and out of the ceremonial space.
Sisa can offer accommodation, but unfortunately only for a capacity of 5 people. The cost is $35 per day, and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
If you would like to stay here please contact us, arrangements will be made on a first come first served basis.
We can arrange for a taxi to pick you up from the airport which will bring you to Sisa’s. The cost for the taxi would be $35.
The rendezvous point will be at Sisa’s place, on Wednesday 20th March at 9am, with a view to travel to Puyo, a 5hr journey by road, to arrive at the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre.
LOCAL TRANSPORT AROUND QUITO
Local taxis are very easy to find around the city and are reasonably priced. If you would like any help booking transport during your stay in Quito we can recommend taxi companies and trusted drivers that we work with.
There is a reasonable bus service to get around Quito but for the shortness of the stay and the low cost of taxi travel (about 60% less than UK prices) we advise taking taxis (preferably with taxi drivers known to us).
(Prices may vary with inflation and the rising costs of living)

THINGS TO BRING
Please choose organic and non-biological products that will be rainforest friendly. Choose light coloured clothing where possible as insects are more attracted to darker colours. Fabrics such as linens, lightweight cottons and sports/running shirts are more breathable and will dry more quickly in the humid weather conditions. Try to bring a suitcase or travel bag that is waterproof, and a waterproof bag for any valuable items. These are the items we recommend for your experience with us:

- Bring warm clothes for the evenings and night time ceremonies
- Socks and underwear
- Wellington boots (knee high for deep water and rain)
- Trainers/walking shoes/hiking boots
- Flip flops/sandals/crocs
- Swimming costume/trunks (no bikinis) and Sarong/fabric wrap (useful for both men and women)
- Waterproof jacket and trousers
- Hat, sunglasses and sun cream
- Umbrella

TESTIMONIALS
I had reached another one of those moments in my life, a deep uncomfortable spiritual death occurring, my vision so blurred I couldn’t really see a way out. I had an invitation to attend a ten day course with Kurikindi at his centre. There was resistance but the knowing I had to be there was louder.
I arrived not in the best shape mentally, physically or spiritually but my body relaxed when we arrived in Quito. I knew I was going to be okay. I was greeted by Alex and our conversation along with the similarities in our character were warming/comforting.
The work began immediately after arriving in Quito with tobacco cleansing then shortly after we were on the road to the Rainforest to the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre. It’s a really, really incredible place with some very well built structures and facilities. It was the 5* jungle experience.
Kurikindi is an incredible man. I’m so so grateful for the care ,the love and the accuracy of the healing that took place. It was a new experience all together. It was difficult but I had a new found strength immediately. Chilli and ginger helped me alot and I have brought the use of tobacco and chilli into my everyday life. I couldn’t be without them helping me to maintain myself to be in a clean and clear way.
My experience with the master medicine, just like the other medicines was so different .So subtle yes so precise. It’s true mystery. I’ve been with many shamans all over this world but have never been able to maintain such strong posture consistently in my life as I do now having spent time with Kurikindi.
Life changing is an understatement.
The ground and the land speaks for itself, like I said it’s a deep jungle experience with top knotch catering, 5 * hospitality run by group of young, polite, hard working and inspiring young men holding it all together .
But there’s no holding back in the work that will take place and the transformation that will inevitably follow. Thank you so so much. You help me see. You helped me walk strong in the light. Eternal gratitude x
I’ve visited the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre on 3 occasions. Once by myself and twice with my family, which includes our little boy of 1. The centre feels like another home. A place for myself and my family to go deeper and deeper in search of truth. To awaken and strengthen our connection with the Divine and to bit by bit remove all that prevents us living in our essence. A place that feels like home where we can learn the path back to just that… Home.
This isn’t a centre that encourages a passive experience, Kurikindi shares, teachers and heals from his heart, creating a space for every visitor to become an active participant in their own healing.
Maybe one of the most important things for us as a family was that our little boy was and is welcome. When we talk about Children being our future, Kurikindi honours that truth with integrity through welcoming and accommodating children in a safe way.
I could write for hours about the wonderful ceremonies, the feel and frequency of the land, the wisdom of the plants, the amazing wisdom shared by Kurikindi and the truly transformative nature of a visit to the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre but words can only do so much.
Each visit enables me to open a little more truth inside on my way home. I have not doubt it will enable the same for anyone who feels a call to visit. On a practical note the centre’s facilities are top quality whilst everything is cleaned and maintained impeccably”.
This year at Kurikindi Kawsay, my husband and I had an extraordinary experience deepening our shamanic training and having the opportunity to solidify – both individually and as a family – our desire for the divine path of life.
In the centre we were able to comfortably enjoy the stillness of the land with its astonishing beauty, connecting with nature, the elements and the ancestral teachings of Kurikindi. We were also welcomed, mentored and assisted by some of his closest family members.
During ceremonies, daily life tests and adventures, we witnessed and shared many aspects of the magic world and a profound spiritual knowledge, awakening to a completely new realm of human consciousness.
This is a place for those who intend to brave their deepest selves into remembering who they truly are and what one’s genuine purpose in life is…
A ‘workout’ towards Pure Love and Divine Frequency.
Amazing experience in every way possible. Every effort has been made to make the experience as comfortable as possible to ensure attendees receive the best service both in and out of ceremonial spaces.
Here you are offered a genuine experience in a safe space with people who truly care about your well-being and path ahead. Not only do they care but it’s very clear to see they have the necessary knowledge and experience to facilitate and manage the spaces in a good way.
The rooms are amazing, with running showers, double bed and a hammock. This offered a comfortable yet authentic experience of the rainforest. The food is amazing with 3 meals offered per day.
On a personal level, this retreat centre has helped me to create the awareness within my own life to create lasting changes for the better.
