THE ELEMENTS
There is something incredibly magical in connecting with nature around us.
Who, when we were children, have not travelled with the wind? Played in the water? Been mesmerized by the dance of the fire? Or felt comforted by the grass beneath our feet?
A child’s relationship with the elements is not just a passing interest but a fundamental connection to life.
What we eat, what grows around us, what we breathe – all comes from the combination of the elemental forces: Water, Fire, Earth, Wind.
We often take for granted what is basic and unlimited.
In Amazonian life, this truth has not been forgotten. Many tribes bring messages of change to the world in an attempt to protect the foundations of our life on Earth.
In Shamanic practice, the connection with the elements is foundational. Each element not only has a physical function but also an energetic aspect, just like us! If they give life, how can they not be considered alive too?
By growing in the capacity to assimilate these truths, a sincere love for life and for nature is born and the realisation that we are not separate: we are one.
With the recognition that the Earth is our body, Fire is the heart, blood is Water and breath is Air, comes the understanding that it is necessary to create balance for healing individually and globally. Most important is that we help our children not to forget the magic of this relationship, this world and this life.
